The author uses different characters to analyze the evils and opportunities that define every society. The author seeks to support the argument that human happiness is something that can never be purchased (Wharton, 2002). The issue of human behavior is also portrayed from a realist perspective. The book supports the idea that every society will have successful and unsuccessful people. Edith Wharton’s “House of Mirth” is a masterpiece that focuses on the concept of survival-for-the-fittest. ![]()
